Help us rescue and care for injured wildlife in your community.
At the Wrightwood Raptor Center, our mission is the rehabilitation of sick and injured birds of prey and their subsequent release back into the wild. We also strive to educate the public about raptors, and how to coexist with them responsibly In both urban and rural settings.
Our team of dedicated volunteers and staff are passionate about wildlife conservation and are committed to providing the highest level of care to every raptor we take in. We work together to ensure that every animal receives the attention and care they need to heal, then return to the wild.
The Wrightwood Raptor Center is currently a dream in its conceptual stages. Over the last several years, I have received hundreds of phone calls, text messages, and Facebook notifications about sick or injured birds of prey because people in the Victor Valley and Tri-Comunity area of Southern California recognize me as a falconer and one of the guys who “does the falconry show” at the Koroneburg Renaissance Festival. I do have more than a decade of experience with birds of prey, but sadly, I am not a licensed wildlife rehabilitator. Due to that fact, when called, I have taken a bird in, provided the minimal care necessary to stabilize the animal, then transported them to a raptor expert in Orange County to do a wildlife surrender in order to make sure they all get the care they need. Over the years, with the volume of calls I’ve received, it is evident to me that raptor rehab center is needed much closer to home, and so the concept of the Wrightwood Raptor Center was born. If you do choose to donate, know that your donation will be used to establish a center that, at the time I am writing this, does not yet exist. I don’t know how long it will take to establish, I only know that it will cost a bare minimum of $12,000 to start it up correctly.
Support our efforts to rescue, rehabilitate, and release hawks, falcons, and owls back into their natural habitats.

The mission of Wrightwood Raptor Center is to rescue and rehabilitate sick, injured, and orphaned birds of prey, and to release them back into the wild.
Once open, the Wrightwood Raptor Center will provide specialized care for each animal based on their unique needs. Our team of trained professionals will provide medical treatment, proper nutrition, and a safe and comfortable environment.
When starting out, our facility will be primarily focused on providing the care needed to bring a bird up to a level of health that it will be able to be released. for the safety of those animals, and to ensure that they don’t become imprinted or reliant on humans, rehabilitating birds will not be accessible to the public. You will be able to learn about current residents and their situations and progress through social media. That being said, sometimes an animal is deemed permanently unreleasable. It is our goal to provide a safe place for some of those unreleasable animals to live out their days, and for those animals to become ambassadors to the public. If we are able to realize that goal, those animals would be viewable by the public, though whether th at would be only through our outreach, or whether we could allow facility access to the public is something that has yet to be determined.
